When I was 11 years old, a 30-something-year-old would stalk me. I was told that every once in a while he would get locked up in a mental hospital.
He was morbidly obese and would shake my hand for several minutes, all the time refusing to let go.
He always wanted hugs from me, and, then too, he refused to stop hugging me.
Can you imagine at that age, getting a 60 second long full body contact hug from a man 20 years older who was also severely schizophrenic? 😣 😓 😔
I started hiding in the women's bathroom to get away from him, and when he started waiting outside the bathroom for me, I would jump out the window.
I know his schizophrenia had nothing to do with his stalking behaviour, it just scared me even more.
As an adult I have heard about other women he has stalked, and I also found his blog (which was a new and unusual thing in the early 2000's) where he had described in detail his feelings for me and other women, both who I do and don't know.
After my parents found out what was going on, my dad confronted him about his behavior, and that helped me feel much more safe.
